ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I draw inspiration from my personal history and experiences growing up in Dublin Ireland and emigrating at a young age to the United States.

The paintings and drawings I create are characterized by abundance of color and realism. In each work, preliminary drawings and sketches subtly emerge beneath the layers of acrylic and oil paint. This transparency in the process enables the emotional presence of the subject to resonate clearly.

Within each art piece, personal memories and experiences can be discerned weaving throughout the canvas. I employ those elements as a means of showcasing human communication, more as a visual element than a textual one, inviting the viewer to craft their own interpretation.

Drawing inspiration from my personal history in Europe and New York, my choice of subjects create a historical foundation and insight into my personal memories and experiences.
